Many factors are involved in the overall cost of a paintball. Less expensive paintballs may be seconds or what is known as regrind shell and may have dimples, heavy seams, harder shell or be out of round. They also may have less colorful pigments in the shell (brown or gray) and have lower performing fill material such as ( VO ) vegetable oil or (FO) fish oil and even corn starch fillers. If you are seeing black mildew looking stains around your playing area this is most likely due to paintballs with vegetable oil. This fill will also be harder to wash out of clothing. Also remember you are asking this little ball to go from zero to nearly two hundred miles per hour without breaking and then fly straight to your target, then break and leave a mark. That's a lot to ask! High quality paintballs will have brighter fill and use ( PEG ) Polyethylene Glycol fill, and have better shell colors as well as rounder more consistent shell with less seam. And are completely biodegradable whereas VO paint is not. We do not charge more for paint, we just sell a higher quality paintball. Paintballs sold by most discount stores are designed to be low cost and also will sit on the shelf for so long that they get out of round or dimpled and break in the gun or not shoot straight. We have a responsibility to provide a High quality product for our customers. Lets face it, if you paid good money to play at a field and all the paint did is break in the guns and had no accuracy or colors, would you want to go back? We sell only the highest quality, freshest paintballs because our customers deserve it. Wolverine now has a custom field color available at our field only. This will save you money in the long run since we buy our field paint on contract, it will cost less for you to play and give you a top quality paintball. And we will not charge you extra for bringing it back the next time you visit.
